The original SC Marriage Settlement volumes which are housed at the SC Archives and History Center in Columbia, contain marriage settlements, marriage contracts, marriage agreements and trust deeds and are available there on microfilm. The information tends to be from Charleston, Georgetown, Beaufort and the Old Parishes in the Low Country, although by law marriage settlements were to be recorded at each county courthouse and also at the State level across the entire state. Book is in two sections: Men and Women and the entries are listed in alphabetical order by names and dates.
