Bascom W. T. Phreaner, photographer, was active in Hagerstown, MD, as early as 1864, when he was assessed taxes on his photography business. Phreaner, born 9 Oct 1845 in Hagerstown, MD was the son of William A. Phreaner and Louisa Bowman. B. W. T. Phreaner in 1869 married Emma Catherine Wagner. He died in 1932 in York, PA.

Henry R. Koopman (1860-1944) photographer of Roseland, IL

 

The Reformed Church in Roseland that was built on the site of the old church where Rev Koopman preached at in the mid 1870s. The photo is by Henry R. Koopman II. He and his wife Katy were the first to be married in this church.

Henry R. Koopman born 1860 in the Netherlands, came to the US with his father, H. R. Koopman, a preacher. Koopman learned the photography trade at the Simpson studio in NYC, and returned to Roseland, IL in 1884 to set up Leader Studio at 11106 S. Michigan St.

Cabinet photo identified by daughter as Anna M. Hass, known as Gramma Anna to the family. She was born in January 1888 in Germany and her maiden name was Warjenski. She married Louis L. Hass in Chicago, IL in 1911. They had two children before moving to Winlock, Washington. ~
